Ayutthaya, Thailand
The capital of the ancient Kingdom of Siam, Ayutthaya manages to maintain a mystical allure while remaining very near the megacity, Bangkok. Perhaps the most famous of all the relics in Ayutthaya, the sleeping Buddha crafted into the roots of a 100 year old tree truly portrays the ethos of this archaeological site.
